Repairer.
-------------------

THIS PROGRAM IS FREEWARE. IN OTHER WORDS, FEEL FREE TO USE THIS PROGRAM
FREE OF CHARGE. NO UNREGISTERED MESSAGES OR ANYTHING. ALSO FEEL FREE TO
PASS IT ALONG TO OTHER COMPUTER USERS OR OTHER BBS.
FixPacket Ver 2.1 ---
What does it do??!!??
This is a simple program which will repair (most likely) a mail packet that
gives you an error that it may not be a .QWK packet, or there may not be
enough memory, or that there may not be enough disk space.
When you are sure you have enough disk space and you are sure that you have
enough memory to run your achiever and you are sure that that mail package
you downloaded from the bbs you just called was a .QWK package, then try this
program out. This original achieve came with four files.
- FIXPACKT.EXE <-- This is the file which does all the work!
- FIX.BAT <-- This is the file to run
- FIXPACKT.DOC <-- I hope you read readme.1st First!
- README.1ST <-- Read this first
Start off by running FIX.BAT. This must be run in order to run the program
properly. It will ask four questions.
-- WHICH DRIVE IS THE MAIL PACKAGE IN?
What it wants here is simply the drive letter the mail package is in, such
as C or A or B or D.
-- WHICH DIRECTORY IS THE MAIL PACKAGE IN?
It wants to know the name of the directory the mail package is in, such as
QModem or QMODEM\DOWNLOAD.
NOTE! By putting a \ in front of QMODEM (i.e. \QMODEM) or by putting the
drive letter in front (i.e. C:\QMODEM), the program will not work properly.
-- WHAT IS THE MAIL PACKAGE NAME?
Basically, it wants its full name, such as TTOWERS.QWK or MUSTANG.QWK
-- WHAT TYPE OF PACKER WAS THE MAIL PACKAGE PACKED IN [P]KZIP, [L]HA, OR
[A]RJ?
The program just wants a P, L, or an A on this one. It wants to know which
program to use.
After that, it will run itself. When it asks you if you want to remove all
files in the directory, press Y for Yes!
Questions and Answers ---
Q : The program does not work. My files are never fixed properly. What's
wrong?
A : First, check to see if PKZIP, LHA, and/or ARJ is in the PATH statement.
If not, add them to your Path in the AUTOEXEC.BAT. It is a good idea to
have them in the path because several programs assume they are.
Q : By selecting Y for remove all files in the directory, will I be deleting
my hard drive?
A : Naw, it justs deletes the work files!
I would like to know everyones opinions on how they liked the program. Just
drop me a note on MSI Off-Topic or call my board, The Triple Towers BBS.
(502) 821-5737.
Thank you. A new release (still Freeware) will be coming out soon, so watch
for it!

HISTORY
FIXPACKT Ver 1.0
----------------
Short batch file made that I made for myself. I redid it a little so some
others could use it.
FIXPACKT Ver 2.0
----------------
Beta-tested a program on my board. It was a little more complicated than
this one and could only work with .QWK (no .REP) files and PKWARE.
FIXPACKT Ver 2.1
----------------
Decreased the number of files necessary and added new features. It can now
support LHA, ARJ, and PKWare, and it now includes .REP files.
